The Janus Columns

Observing the past and looking ahead.

     These columns are intended to provide an archive of comments on past or current observations of life in Sonning Common and to offer news and opinions, sometimes provocative, on how matters may be changed or to simply record what did change as a matter of historical record.

     Unlike archives in dusty cellars these archive columns are permanently live and can be commented on, added to or shot down in flames. The concept is to generate debate.

     The 'Janus Columns' are also linked to the editorial content of the new "Sonning Common WebMag" (coming soon!) and are open to anyone with a local address to air their views of village activities (or lack of them!) or suggest a new 'Janus Column' topic, and of course for other reader's responses.

     The columns are also interactive in that where it is possible to provide further information it does so in the form of 'link' boxes around key words which when clicked upon provide the reader with another doorway to explore.

     Topical subjects and comments will also be reproduced in the "Letters to the Editor" pages of the 'WebMag'.
